Office of the Vice President of Nepal

Article 67 of the Constitution of Nepal has provided for a Vice President in Nepal. Accordingly, there is a provision that in the absence of the President, the functions performed by the President shall be performed by the Vice President. The role of this dignified institution is to assimilate the sovereign rights, autonomy and right of self-governance of the people while preserving the independence, sovereignty, territorial integrity, national unity and self-respect of the country. In order to enhance the respect and national unity of the citizens towards the nation and nationality, the Rt. Honorable Vice President is invited to be the chief guest in the religious, social, cultural and developmental programs organized by the civic society, organizations, diplomatic missions and the public.{Brief} Article 67 of the Constitution of Nepal provides for a Vice President in Nepal. According to Article 73 of the Constitution of Nepal, there is a separate office for the Vice President to perform his duties.
